This Voipappz System function, allow callers to route their incoming call themselves to specific department/extension/service by responding to IVR prompts.
Note IVR is an acronym for Integrated Voice Response.
Pre Requirements: To check the IVR configuration, you will need to create a DID (usually your cell phone) that will be directed to the IVR main menu.
Steps:
- Plan the menu and the key press for each unit. Assign an extension to the unit.
- Prepare written announcement(s) that reflect the unit and assigned keys from above.
- Create and Upload a new Announcement(s) from step 2. Recording new voice announcements is done outside of the Voipappz System.
- Upload the mp3 recordings from the Voipappz Admin ->>> Announcements.
- Make sure you created All The Extension/Extension Group you have selected in 1.

Example Scensio:
Let's Create an IVR menu for the following schema:

- Check for Valid Call Records We will use 4 X mp3 recordings: A01.mp3 will be our initial menu for all incoming calls. Additionally, 3 X mp.3 recordings for each sub-menu.
- For each organizational unit (Sales, Tech Support, etc.), and the Operator, an extension (or a group of extensions), needs to be defined. i.e. Sales: 1000-1009, Tech support: 1020-1029, etc. Note that the assignment of extensions should not be continuous so you have room to grow.
- Create An IVR ->>>> link (the created IVR will be similar to the one below).
- Test the IVR announcements and transfer by calling and pressing the menu keys. Also check non-press and unassigned number press.
